This brand embodies just that: Ballers who may not have gotten the recognition or the exposure they needed in past time, but continue to find their way to manifest their on and off court goals. Dark Horse Hooper serves as a growing resource, a continuous testimonial, and a North Star for players expanding themselves from the bottom.

Jamel “Showtime” Jones
Basketball has always been my vehicle and I use it to drive myself - and ultimately, the world around me - to bring the absolute best versions out of ourselves possible. Taking comfort in the artistic solace of the game molded me into a tireless worker that will stop at nothing to meet my desired goals. Basketball to me is the balance between challenges, childlike dreams and reality. The Dark Horse Hooper Brand represents work ethic and mentality it takes to embody that balance and meet success! So to say, I built DHH because through my journey, I've discovered that empowering the self-motivated is a huge part of my purpose... why wait?

In 2018, I was forced to stop attending college and pursuing college basketball due to my financial situation. With only one year of experience beyond college under my belt, I sought out every entry level opportunity that I could to develop my game, connections and resources to continue pursuing goals within my craft. So, after 3 years of semi-pro basketball in the heart of Denver, Colorado, it was time to officially set foot overseas and begin my professional career in May 2021 at the NUBA invitational showcase in Rosarito, Mexico. It was a start to remember, furthermore, a huge step in the creation of Dark Horse Hooper!
